An answer to 'Why go to church?'

If you're spiritually alive, you're going to love this!

If you're spiritually dead, you won't want to read it.

If you're spiritually curious, there is still hope!

A Church goer wrote a letter to the editor of a newspaper and complained that it made no sense to go to church every Sunday.   'I've gone for 30 years now,' he wrote, 'and in that time I have heard something like 3,000 sermons, but for the life of me, I can't remember a single one of them. So, I think I'm wasting my time and the pastors are wasting theirs by giving sermons at all.'

This started a real controversy in the 'Letters to the Editor' column.
Much to the delight of the editor, it went on for weeks until someone wrote this clincher:
'I've been married for 30 years now. In that time my wife has cooked some 32,000 meals. But, for the life of me, I cannot recall the entire menu for a single one of those meals. But I do know this: They all nourished me and gave me the strength I needed to do my work.
If my wife had not given me these meals, I would be physically dead today.
Likewise, if I had not gone to church for nourishment, I would be spiritually dead today!'
When you are DOWN to nothing, God is UP to something!
Faith sees the invisible, believes the incredible and receives the impossible!
Thank God for our physical and our spiritual nourishment!

TRUST GOD.   REFLECTION INSPIRED BY THE ABOVE ARTICLE -  WRITTEN BY ALEIDA RAHAL-FERNANDEZ JUNE 25, 2015

Many people feel they do not need to receive the Eucharist every Sunday.  I say to you Jesus invites you every Sunday to come together with Him in the Eucharist.  This is the most beautiful and powerful Catholic practice.  Do not refuse or reject Him.  He is coming to us with the greatest love and wants to have physical contact with you through the Holy Eucharist.

Remember when you received the Eucharist for the first time?  Didn’t you feel a great emotion, as you anticipated receiving Jesus?   I remember how I felt the first time I received Jesus in the Holy Communion.  I was so uplifted and excited by the whole preparation and the fasting of 12 hours as it was the custom then.  I felt Jesus so particularly close to me that most wonderful morning of my childhood life.  I would dare to say, that this was the most beautiful feeling I have ever felt in my whole life.  The love of Christ for me was as strong then as it is now.  God does not change.  He sent His only Begotten Son Jesus Christ to save us.  As Catholics, we believe that Jesus is present in the bread and wine consecrated by the priest.  He is pouring Himself and His Infinite Love for you.  Please do not refuse Him.  Jesus loves you intensively and He waits patiently for you to return to Him.   You are worth it.  You are loved by Jesus.  You deserve to grow closer to Him in spite of your hideous sins.  He is love and this love is surrounding you right at this very moment.  It is holding you, you just have to stretch out your arms and hands and say to Jesus that you thank Him for his awesome love and that you want to receive Him.  Do not be afraid to go to confession and clean out your house.  Even the most horrible sins are just a drop of water in the ocean of love and mercifulness that God has for us.

Reflexion y oracion. Reflection and prayers

These pictures by myself this past weekend should inspire us all that in spite of the sadness we feel about the acts of violence we hear on the media, we must be reassured that God is with us and we must continue to pray intensively for peace in the world and in the USA. We must remain strong and resolved to end all violence and hatred. We must teach our young children to respect one another and hopefully love one another for the good of all human kind. Peace and Prayers to end violence. We must believe in the goodness of human kind and its redemption..The forces of darkness desire our discouragement, we must not let this take over us, We fight them with prayers and offering love instead of hatred and hopeness instead of discouragement. The discouragement is the key to bring us down; do not allow this to take over you. Wishing you all a great weekend. Pray, pray....I reassured you that prayers said sincerely, can bring down the worst situations and strengthen our spirit by the grace of God and the Holy Spirit. Stay connected with God on a daily basis. Find time for praying and it will pay off.
Debemos permanecer fuertes y decididos a poner fin a toda violencia y odio. Wishing you all a great weekend.
